ABOUT
Elena Lozonschi is an actor originally from Romania, now based in New York City. A prominent figure on the New York stage, she focuses on creating honest, uncomfortable, and impactful performances. She starred as Lyubov Andreyevna in the multilingual production of Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard and delivered a powerful performance in Dennis Kelly's one-woman show Girls & Boys. Elena also led in the Living Radio series shows: Inn-Ception and 5 Beats per Minute, or Thirty-Five Degrees Fahrenheit, and the long-running A Sketch of New York. One of her dearest projects was Falling, a moving physical theater piece crafted by Bill Bowers during the first edition of PhysFest. Performed with the group Stellaaa, this piece transcended the boundaries of structural theatre, venturing into the realm of physical and spiritual expression. Elena thrives on working with raw material, continually pushing the boundaries of her art to deliver transformative theatrical experiences.
She co-founded Béton Brut with fellow actor Hraban Luyat, and together are gearing up to produce an exciting new translation of Eugene Ionesco's Rhinoceros Next Spring. Keep an eye here for updates!
